Aftercare Instructions

Please read and carefully follow these directions. They come from years of experience! Proper care of your new tattoo or piercing will ensure the best results.

Piercings:

· Properly cleanse the pierced area by using antibacterial or antimicrobial soap for the external skin 3 to 4 times daily and an antiseptic mouthwash or saltwater for oral piercings.

· Keep the piercing clean for at least the first 6 weeks.

· Use sterile bandages when necessary.

· The recipe for saline solution: 1 Tbsp of natural sea salt and 20 oz. of water shaken until dissolved.

Tattoos:

· You have been tattooed under sterile conditions.  

· After the tattoo has healed, the brightness of color varies with each skin tone.

· Remove bandage after 2-3 hours. Re-bandage if necessary.

· Wash gently with room temp, soapy water and pat dry.

· Apply a thin coat of unscented lotion or antibiotic ointment/cream 2 to 3 times a day for the first 4 to 5 days. DO NOT USE VASELINE!

· No direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks.

· No swimming or soaking the new tattoo in fresh, salt, or chlorinated water for at least 2 weeks.

· Do not pick or scratch at your new tattoo.

Report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the body piercing or tattoo to the artist and to the Texas Department of Health at 1(888)839-6676.
